JoSAA 2026 Counselling Registration Live Updates: Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced that the process of registration and choice filling for JoSAA 2026 counseling shall commence from today i.e., June 2, 2026. Candidates with valid JEE Main 2026 rank and JEE Advanced 2026 ranks can complete the registration procedure through the JoSAA website. The registration and choice filling window is set to open from 5 PM onwards, which would be accessible till 11 June 2026. The candidates are able to fill their choices directly once they complete the registration process.
In order to take into account, the registration and choice filling for JoSAA becomes operational only once in the counseling process. The entire JoSAA 2026 counselling process will be conducted online through the official website, and candidates are advised to complete registration and choice filling within the prescribed deadline.
Candidates will be able to enroll for JoSAA 2026 counseling and fill in the choices until June 11, 2026, up to 5:00 PM. Since JoSAA rarely makes any extensions in terms of deadlines for these two procedures, candidates should ideally complete these before the deadline. JEE Advanced 2026 ranking will be mandatory for admission in IITs, while the other educational institutions, including NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and other GFTIs, will consider JEE Main 2026 ranks for their admissions.

Candidates can follow the steps below to register for JoSAA 2026 counselling and submit their preferred institute and course choices.
Step 1: Complete New Candidate Registration
Visit the JoSAA portal and click on "New Candidate Registration".
Enter your JEE Main 2026 Application Number, Date of Birth, Candidate Name, and Mother's Name.
Verify the OTP sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
Create a secure password for your JoSAA account and complete the registration process.
Step 2: Access the JoSAA Candidate Portal
Log in using your JEE Main 2026 Application Number and the password created during registration.
Verify the OTP sent to your registered contact details.
Carefully review all personal and academic information displayed on the portal.
Confirm the registration if all details are correct. In case of any editable errors, update the information before proceeding.
Step 3: Fill and Lock Choices
After registration is confirmed, proceed to the choice-filling section.
Verify your identity using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Browse the list of available institutes and programmes and add your preferred options to the choice list.
Arrange the selected choices in order of preference.
Candidates can add, delete, or rearrange choices multiple times before the deadline.
Once satisfied with the preference order, lock the choices before June 11, 2026.
Important: Choice locking is essential. If candidates do not manually lock their preferences, the system will automatically lock the last saved choices after the deadline, and those choices will be considered for seat allotment in all counselling rounds.
