Students who have recently checked their CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 and are unhappy with their scores are not alone. There are many students each year who apply for answer sheet checking/re-evaluation after the announcement of CBSE results by CBSE. But for Class 12 students, there have been significant changes this year, and hence, the old CBSE revaluation process cannot be considered anymore. As per the official CBSE update, CBSE has stopped the process of Verification of Marks for Class 12 students and has moved to the process of digital OSM-based evaluation. CBSE Class 12 revaluation process is an official process provided by CBSE. It gives students the chance to request a review of their answer sheets, which have been evaluated. In case a student believes his or her grades are unfair, he or she will be able to make an application for getting a copy of their evaluated answer book, or ask for a reevaluation of some questions via the CBSE website. CBSE Class 12 revaluation process is separate from the main result announcement, and there is a defined application period after the results have been announced at cbse.gov.in.
CBSE has officially removed the “Verification of Marks” stage for Class 12th students, starting from 2026 onwards. Previously, the entire revaluation process included three steps:
However, CBSE has replaced this with a simplified two-step process because Class 12 answer sheets are being evaluated through the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. In this On-Screen Marking (OSM) method, the sheets are scanned digitally and marked digitally too. The totals are automatically obtained with no scope for errors in tallying, answering questions, and missing pages.

CBSE revaluation process has been updated by CBSE for Class 12 students in 2026 by removing the "Verification of Marks" method and introducing a simpler two-step method. The candidates can apply for a photocopy of their evaluated answer sheets and then go for the re-evaluation of certain questions. Check below the the new two step system:

Note: Verification of Marks is no longer available for CBSE Class 12 students from 2026 onwards.
Students that are not happy with the result of the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 have the option to apply for photocopied and revaluation services using the official CBSE website after the results are out.
As per CBSE rules, marks after re-evaluation may increase, remain unchanged, or decrease depending on the review conducted by the examiner. Students are advised to apply for re-evaluation only after carefully checking the photocopy of the evaluated answer sheet and identifying genuine discrepancies.

CBSE revaluation process serves as a significant way for students who feel dissatisfied with their marks to make sure that the marks awarded to them have been assessed in an accurate manner. The process involves several steps including verifying the marks awarded, obtaining a copy of the evaluated answer sheet, and re-evaluation of answers in case of any problem or discrepancy. Students can look for a re-evaluation from the board in order to rectify any problems that exist in calculation of scores or marking of the answers incorrectly. However, students must exercise caution and apply only if they are absolutely sure that their marks have been assessed inaccurately.
