NEET is a national-level entrance exam for admissions into undergraduate medical/paramedical programs in India. The NEET exam is conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) once per year in offline (pen and paper) format. Each exam is conducted over a period of 3 hours and 20 minutes (200 minutes) and includes a total of 200 multiple-choice questions covering Physics, Chemistry and Biology, of which candidates must answer 180.
National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the NEET UG Exam for admission into MBBS, BDS, BSc (Nursing), BAMS, and other medical and paramedical courses. Presently, the NEET UG Exam is held in an offline mode in 13 languages, but the Union Ministry of Education is considering making it available in an online mode as well as whether it will implement a computer-based version of the NEET UG Exam in the near future, whereby there could be multiple testing days and slots to accommodate large numbers of candidates taking this examination. In addition to these changes, students may no longer have the ability to select their own exam city. Rather, exam centers will likely be assigned based on the current living address that is linked to the student's AADHAAR account.

NEET 2025 is set up in an entirely different manner compared to previous examinations due to all the changes made last year. Some of the more significant changes include:
Revamped NEET Exam Pattern: The entire NEET exam pattern was returned to its pre-COVID-19 form. All optional questions were eliminated from the exam, and the overall time allotted to complete the exam was reduced by twenty minutes.
Updated NEET Website: The old NEET portal has been updated (to neet.nta.nic.in) to reflect current design trends.
APAAR ID Integration: The NTA introduced the APAAR ID during the application process. Candidates who were selected for the NEET had their previous academic records filled out automatically in the NEET application form.
Reduction of Exam City Choices: The number of cities that candidates could take the NEET in was reduced from 557 to 552, and instead of having two choices for the location of the NEET examination, candidates were provided three choices.
Revised Tie-Breaker Policy: A new final criterion (if all candidates are still tied after utilising the first seven tie-breaker criteria) will randomly select the remaining tied candidates under the supervision of an independent review board.
