IIT Madras is conducting GATE 2027, and the official exam pattern remains unchanged. According to the pattern of previous GATE question papers, experts believe that GATE 2027 will have questions related to conceptual knowledge and applications. According to the experts quoted by Shiksha, the emphasis is expected to be on concept-based questions with MSQs and NATs being significant. The actual difficulty level and subject-wise questions cannot be known until the exam happens.
IIT Madras is going to publish the answer key of GATE 2027 after the exam. There are two types of answer keys: provisional answer key and the final answer key. Provisional answer key would be published with the response sheet and using it candidates can cross-check their answers and also file objections using the GOAPS portal. After the review of objections, the final answer key would be released and will be used to evaluate the GATE 2027 scores. They can calculate their marks based on the answer key and response sheet provided before the announcement of GATE 2027 results. The GATE 2027 exam will be held on 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st February 2027, while the GATE 2027 result will be announced on 19th March 2027.
How to Download GATE 2027 Answer Key
If any candidate finds an error in the provisional answer key, then he/she will have the option of raising objections via the GOAPS portal in the designated objection period. This involves selecting the concerned question, attaching any documentation if necessary, and paying the objection fee. The final answer key will come out after the objection period.
The answer sheet of GATE 2027 will be provided by IIT Madras post the exam process. This answer sheet will contain the answers selected by students in the test. The students can use this answer sheet together with the provisional answer key to find out their probable marks.
Candidates cannot challenge the response sheet directly. They can raise objections against the provisional answer key within the specified objection window. The response sheet is used to compare the answers marked in the exam with the answers given in the provisional answer key.
Note: The response sheet, provisional answer key and question paper are expected to be available after the GATE 2027 examination.
For the year 2027, the GATE examination will provide candidates an option of appearing for either a single test paper or even up to two. In the case where the candidate opts to write two papers, the second one must be chosen from the combinations of the papers that have been sanctioned by IIT Madras. This can only be done using a single GATE application form.
