To appear for JEE Advanced 2026, candidates must meet specific eligibility conditions set by the exam authorities. These criteria ensure that only qualified and deserving candidates can compete for admission to IITs.

• JEE Advanced Age Limit
  Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2001. However, a relaxation of 5 years is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories.
• JEE Advanced Educational Qualification
  Candidates must have passed their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination in 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Those appearing in 2026 are also eligible.
• JEE Advanced Maximum Attempts
  A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

The official notification for JEE Advanced 2026 has been released by the organizing institute, IIT Roorkee, on the official website. JEE Advanced 2026 exam is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The examination will take place in two compulsory papers held on the same day. Candidates must appear for both papers, as performance in each is considered for the final ranking and admission to IITs.

Candidates will also be given an opportunity to raise objections or submit feedback on the provisional answer key from May 25, 2026 (10:00 AM IST) to May 26, 2026 (5:00 PM IST).
