Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU) is a Central University in Uttarakhand. It was established in 1973 as a State University and became a Central University in 2009 through an Act of Parliament. The university has three main campuses: Birla Campus with its extension at Chauras Campus in Srinagar Garhwal, BGR Campus in Pauri, and SRT Campus in Tehri. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across various disciplines.

National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand (NITUK) is a renowned government engineering institute established in 2009 at Srinagar, Uttarakhand. It is recognised as an Institute of National Importance. NIT Uttarakhand courses are offered at UG, PG and PhD levels and include B.Tech., M.Tech., M.Sc., and PhD. National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand admission is done through national-level entrance exam, such as JEE Main, GATE, and IIT JAM.
