Overview

JoSAA 2026 counselling registration is now closed. Students who were qualified in JEE Advanced were eligible for admission in IITs, whereas those who got ranks in JEE Main were eligible to join in counseling for admission in NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and GFTIs. While filling in the details in the registration process, students had to verify themselves by using their JEE Main application number. After successful authentication, they could login into the JoSAA portal using their application number, newly generated password, and OTP received on their registered mobile number and email ID. Once the process of registration was completed, candidates could move ahead with choice filling of JoSAA.

JoSAA Registration 2026: Step-by-Step Application Process

Candidates who want to participate in the JoSAA counseling 2026 process should register themselves via the JoSAA 2026 website. The procedure of online registration is as follows:
Step 1: New Candidate Registration

Candidates registering for the first time must verify their identity using their JEE Main 2026 credentials.

  • Visit the JoSAA portal and click on "New Candidate Registration".
  • Enter your JEE Main 2026 Application Number, Date of Birth, Mother's Name, and Candidate's Name.
  • Submit the details and verify the OTP sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
  • Create a password for the JoSAA portal and complete the registration process.

Step 2: Login and Registration Confirmation

After successful registration, candidates can access the JoSAA candidate portal.

  • Log in using the JEE Main 2026 Application Number and the newly created password.
  • Verify the OTP sent to the registered email ID and mobile number.
  • Review all displayed details, including:
    • Personal Information
    • JEE Main/JEE Advanced Details and Ranks
    • Gender
    • Nationality
    • Class 12 Passing Details
    • State of Eligibility
  • If any information is incorrect, use the edit option wherever applicable. Once verified, confirm the registration.

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will begin the JoSAA 2026 counselling registration process from June 2, 2026. Documents Required for JoSAA 2026

No documents are required during initial registration. However, after seat allotment, candidates need to upload:

JoSAA 2026 Registration Important Instructions

Below are some important instructions that candidates must follow while registering for JoSAA 2026:

  • Do not share your JoSAA login password with anyone.
  • Change your login password from time to time to ensure enhanced security of your account.
  • Never give your login details in reply to any email, message, or call. The authorities at JoSAA or NIC will never ask you about your login password.
  • Your IP address is monitored for security and verification purposes.
  • Candidates are expected to complete their registrations within the given timeline.
  • Candidates failing to register in time shall be denied access to participate in the JoSAA counselling process.
  • Visit the official website of JoSAA frequently for any new updates, counselling timings, etc.
  • Candidates are required to enter accurate information during the filling of their application form since errors will hamper the counselling process.
  • Keep the mobile number and e-mail ID entered by you updated at all times because they shall receive all important OTPs and notifications via SMS/E-Mail.

JoSAA Counselling 2026 Registration Fee

There is no fee for registering for JoSAA 2026 counselling. However, candidates who are allotted a seat must pay the prescribed seat acceptance fee, which includes the JoSAA processing fee. The processing fee becomes applicable only after a candidate receives a seat allotment and chooses to accept the allotted seat.

JoSAA 2026 Application Form Correction

During JoSAA 2026 registration, candidates will have limited options to modify their details. Certain information imported from the JEE database cannot be changed through the JoSAA portal.

After JoSAA 2026 Registration
