JoSAA 2026 counselling registration is now closed. Students who were qualified in JEE Advanced were eligible for admission in IITs, whereas those who got ranks in JEE Main were eligible to join in counseling for admission in NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and GFTIs. While filling in the details in the registration process, students had to verify themselves by using their JEE Main application number. After successful authentication, they could login into the JoSAA portal using their application number, newly generated password, and OTP received on their registered mobile number and email ID. Once the process of registration was completed, candidates could move ahead with choice filling of JoSAA.
Candidates who want to participate in the JoSAA counseling 2026 process should register themselves via the JoSAA 2026 website. The procedure of online registration is as follows:
Step 1: New Candidate Registration
Candidates registering for the first time must verify their identity using their JEE Main 2026 credentials.
After successful registration, candidates can access the JoSAA candidate portal.
After completing these steps, candidates can proceed to choice filling and locking.
After registering themselves, students are supposed to choose the colleges/programs that they wish to pursue in. They need to list down their preferences according to the priority and are recommended to include as many as they can, in order to increase their chances of getting admission.

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will begin the JoSAA 2026 counselling registration process from June 2, 2026. Candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced 2026 or secured a valid JEE Main 2026 rank will be eligible to participate. There is no fee for registering for JoSAA 2026 counselling. However, candidates who are allotted a seat must pay the prescribed seat acceptance fee, which includes the JoSAA processing fee. The processing fee becomes applicable only after a candidate receives a seat allotment and chooses to accept the allotted seat.

Before accessing the choice-filling portal, candidates must verify an OTP sent to their registered mobile number and email address. After successful verification, the list of available institutes and programmes will be displayed.
